PASTOR michael kelly

michael kelly, ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Pastor Mike Kelly grew up in a family that attended a variety of churches, settling into the Assemblies of God for several years. He gave his heart to the Lord on June 6, 1976 at 8 years old, and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the age of twelve at church camp.. He and Stacia married in 1990 with a shared expectation that God had an “unconventional” ministry in store for their future. The pair left for World Harvest Bible College together in 1994 and graduated with diplomas in Pastoral Theology. They had three sons and a daughter from 1995 to 2000. After some divine breadcrumbs led them to the House of Prayer in 2001, they knew immediately that they had found the church home they’d been looking for. Both of them served in Hope Christian Academy from 2002 to 2007 and in the children’s ministries. Mike worked at Back Street Mission for eight years as Chaplain, preached at the juvenile detention center weekly, led bus adventures and became a full patch member of the Unchained Gang. He was ordained in 2003 and joined the pastoral staff in 2004. The Kellys pioneered the House of Prayer Eastern Greene in 2007. That congregation moved to Harmony Road, ministered in Brown County, and eventually folded back into the House of Prayer Ellettsville in 2017. Pastor Mike’s preaching gift is to take the complex things of the gospel and make them simple for the believer. His heart’s passion is to see people healed, freed, and saved. He weaves adventure and creativity into his Christian walk at every turn. Favorite Quote:Feed your faith and starve your doubts to death. By Lester Sumrall

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my House of Prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a House of Prayer for all people.
