"For everything that was written in the past was written ot teach us, so that through endurance and encouragement
of the Scriptures we might have hope." — Romans 15:4
Biblical Counselors deal with a comprehensive range of
problems. They counsel adults (and children) who must deal with grief, physical and mental abuse, poor parent-child relationships,
divorce, and pornography.
Counselors handle cases involving alcohol and other drug abuses, anorexia, tension, turmoil, anxiety, fear and worry. Other problem
areas include Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, depression and suicide.
How does a Biblical Counselor help you more than some other forms of counseling? Rather than focusing on your problem, a Biblical
Counselor focuses on finding solutions from God's Word. By making a biblical inquiry into your problem, the counselors help you
see your situation from God's perspective. They'll show you through God's promises how there is hope and how God can use any
situation for your good if you are willing to do things His way.
Next, they help you identify specific patterns of living that you can change that will bear fruit in your life and please the Lord.
Biblical Counselors show you how to develop a plan of action to make these significant changes.
God has designed this discipleship process to bring you into conformity to His will for your life and to give you His blessing
and peace despite the difficulty of your circumstances.
John Leis, Biblical Counselor for the House of Prayer, will be available at the church Mondays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
